Fed Up

A little over a week ago I got a sore finger which I've determined is a trapped ulnar nerve, in my dominant hand.   It's painful in certain positions and has really slowed me down for hand-sewing (which means my stays and work).   To compound it I've got a really nasty chillblain on the same finger, so it doesn't want to bend properly; currently hitting it with tonnes of Weleda Frost Cream.
Can't knit while that stuff is fresh and same goes for the sewing.
Been to the chiropractor twice, first time helped, second one seems to have done nothing and I'm not sure if I should go back or not.   Trying some exercises off Youtube as well to stretch things out and try and persuade the wee sod to go back in place properly.

I have managed to get to the heel flap of Ian's second sock despite that, no spinning, am halfway around the bottom binding on my stays; should be finished binding them by now.    No work on the colourwork sheep cushion.

Hoping to get some more progress for you next week.

I hope your finger recovers quickly. And please, if you find some good Youtube stretching exercises, please share them on your blog. i am dealing with a similar problem with a finger (too much knitting).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d85QKyWvrbI is the one I'm currently doing, it's just for the ulnar nerve, but if yours is the median they'll probably have another vid for that. I can certainly feel the nerve when I'm doing them so hopefully that's a good sign.

If you're still having problems with the chilblain (nasty little things!), try dabbing on some straight lavender oil. Seemed to heal up the ones my daughter's toes quite quickly. Good luck with the nerve problem, too. No advice for that, sorry!

Thanks for the link!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Pwi8piDXMQ has also been helpful, probably more so than the first one. It's not fixed yet, but much better after doing this one with the others.
